Jyrki wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 7:19 pm Hi!

After updated my system from LMDE5 to LMDE6 system freezes occasionally about every 2 or 3 days. Before update system was very stable. I can't find specific situation when the system is freezing, except than it seems somehow to be related to the system load. However, the system does not always freeze when the load is high. Sometime I can move mouse cursor, when the system in freeze, sometimes mouse cursor is stuck.

When the system is freeze, ALT+F2 for Cinnamon restart, CTRL+ALT+backspace to restart X11, or CTRL+ALT+F1 for open console window does nothing.

Memory tests run with no errors.

Any help available?

in my case, i had this with lot of load on LMDE5, plus with just letting the computer IDLE, with few things opened, eg FF, after a little hour of pc not used.
here is what appeared in the dmesg, please notice that i had to kill xorg with the magic keys (that my grandma or my little cousin as new linux users, will not know before 10+years of linux learning):

You posted to a [SOLVED] topic. That means the original poster no longer has a problem. They indicated they reseated their memory modules and the problem went away.

If you are having a problem, please create a new topic and do not attempt to add your issue to someone else's topic, and especially do not add your problems to SOLVED topics.
