ScreenSaver Configuration Utility Logs Me Out? WHY??

Post by dansail »

Whenever I go to the menu, Preferences >> Screensaver, it immediately logs me out and goes back to the login screen. Next thing I have to do is log back in. If I try it again, it does it again. This is repeatable. How do I reset the Screensaver to default without affecting the rest of my workstation?

Now, whenever I select "Lock Screen", it invokes the screensaver and logs me out.

However, I have noticed a console error message that reads "Failed to start rotate log files". Is this the cause? What is the cure?
