PC Pro magazine recommends Mint

Post by Aughey »

This months edition of PC Pro magazine for November 23 front page is warning users that Windows 10 is coming to an end and is suggesting alternatives.

It devoted a full page to the merits of Linux Mint (see photo)

"Using Linux once required familiarity with command prompt but that's rarely the case today. You can install software without touching the keyboard, thanks to build-in app stores, and comprehensive Setting applets make configuration easy."
That's good and sympathetic to Linux article. The quote above is describing skill level which is more than enough to operate ...Windows. And you may stay at that skill level in Linux too for indefinite time. The point is that normal Linux is thousand times more than Linux 'without touching the keyboard'. Just made the Android for PC and it will be fine for Windows' refugees.

Yes, that article does make a compelling case for Linux Mint as an alternative for older hardware. Too bad the average Windows user's eyes glaze over at the mention of 'Linux'.
