Installing failure Mint - Canon LBP7110Cw Printer

Hello
I’ve recently clean installed Linux Mint 20.2 OS.
Lenovo G50-30 Intel Celeron N2840 DC.
I have a Canon LBP7110Cw printer.

It worked well using CUPS - on Ubuntu (I installed Mint, it was constantly freezing with work etc).

I have tried to install using canon drivers linux-UFRIILT-drv-v500-uken

Using terminal commands.
I simply am missing something because it simply does not install correctly, and whilst I can print a print (from printer) advising of the details, I simply have been unable to install it correctly.

I simply cannot get anywhere trying to use CUPS.
When I’ve tried to assess cups login - inputting my user / password combo - never lets me in.
I’ve been trying various ways to install correctly using terminal.
Advice & any help, is warmly welcomed.

are you using your current username and then providing a sudo equivalent password i.e. (root - password)? How are you attempting to connect the printer to your machine (USB/Wireless/Wired)? Maybe you can setup ipp everywhere protocol for your Canon LBP7110Cw. I believe to focus on accessing CUPS in some way to look more deeply at the situation for starters. Can you provide a screenshot of the errors you are having while attempting to access CUPS interface? That will help to look more deeply into the situation.

I installed my canon printer in an alternate fashion.
those things want to be informed of the WiFi channel before Linux can see them...
