Hey everyone,
a noob here, sorry!
I'll describe my problem short, I have just switched from win 11 to Linux mint and after installing necessary drivers for Nvidia etc. I've installed Davinci Resolve as well as Steam.
After proper setup of Steam (Protona compatibility for Steam Games and all other titles turned on etc.), I've downloaded the game chorus and now comes the really weird problem.
Everytime I start the game a black screen comes and nothing happens. Then I want to Force Quit the application and I hit Ctrl+Alt+T for the terminal to open.
Once the terminal is open, the game loads properly with no problems and really smooth fps. But when I close the terminal again, nothing happens or loading is really really slow.
I've already searched through google as well as youtube, bot nowhere to find a proper solution and yes, the game runs perfectly as per protondb.com and no one else experienced such issues as I did.
My system specs are as follows:
Linux mint 21.3 Cinnamon
Steam first installed per Software Manager, later on uninstalled it and re-installed through terminal with sudo apt-get install steam -y
Latest NVIDIA Drivers from the system Manager installed
Latest Kernel installed 6.0 or 6.5 (Not exactly sure)
CPU: i9 9900K
RAM: 32 GB
GPU RTX 3080 Ti
SSD: 2 TB Kingston formatted to Linux compatible Format ext4.
If you need any further information, please let me know.
Otherwise I would really appreciate all help or hints.
Thanks a lot in advance

1. Let me just remind you
viewtopic.php?p=2432253#p2432253
2. You can create and check Proton log, alternatively, check GitHub, then ask the developers.
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/wiki/Proton-FAQ
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues?q=Chorus
3. You can check other kernel
4. You can check other options.
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton ... ig-options
5. You can disable some video settings for game in game.
The game may be unstable.
You can rename game settings, then game will create new.
For search folder you can use locate command.
6. You can test other Nvidia settings.
7. Other drivers. But it may be impossible to restore the previous version without reinstalling the system.
Or You can use Timeshift app.
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton ... quirements
8. You can check with system monitor hardware resource consumption.
This will let you know which app is slowing down. ( More certainty )
9. You can monitor specific applications to see which application consumes the most resources.
I used Netdata long time ago.
I probably edited /etc/netdata/apps_groups.conf to track firefox, mate-terminal, steam.
Because by default it tracks the sum of all user applications.
