Firewire Support

Post by dynobot »

Any plans on incorporating FFADO firewire drivers into the builds?

I am sure there are tons of people lined up wanting and waiting for some working firewire drivers for their DAC's.

not sure what you're looking for exactly, but firewire has been working since a while now: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Firewire
with a link for audio devices: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FireWire

and maybe this helps: http://westcoastsuccess.wordpress.com/2 ... lo-ubuntu/

Great, all I need to do is use Ubuntu Studio instead of Linux Mint.

Unless this works for Mints as well????

I have been using a Firewire external hard drive for nearly five years. Used it with Linspire, Freespire, Ubuntu, Mint and a couple other Linux distros I have played with. I stuck a PCI Firewire card in two different desktops and it works right out of the box.

ok lets focus this onto the real subject

Firewire DAC's

I am trying to use a TC Konnekt 8 firewire dac with Linux Mint, apparently only ffado makes the driver....

I have a PCI firewire card, but my DAC will not work
