I've noticed each user being assigned a level, and those with more posts have higher levels. How exactly does a user gain these levels? Are there specific post milestones which award each level? If so, what are the amounts for each level? If not, what makes one gain levels?
I also noticed the orange bar right under everyone's level count. It fills at level 12, so does this milestone grant anything?
I'm quite surprised I couldn't find any info regarding this, any insight?

Re: Forum question: How does leveling work?
There are no benefits to a higher level. It is just -- taken together with how long somebody has been a member -- a rough indicator of how active somebody is here, which does not equate to how knowledgeable they are about any topic or subject. You can see the level thresholds here: viewtopic.php?p=506317#p506317. Posting just to increase level is discouraged.
