XFCE4 is not added to login manager - lmde 6?

Post by half_blind »

Hello all,

As per the topic, XFCE4 is not added to lmde 6's login manager, it has fkuxbox added, but why not xfce4...curious?

How could this be fixed?

Thanks for all your replies.

How did you install Xfce? Is xfce4-session installed?

I'm back.

I installed through apt, and xfce4-session seems to be installed.

Sorry, for the delay, life got in the way.

thanks for any help on this matter.

I can confirm this.
I just tried this out on a test pc with lmde6 and indeed after installing package Xfce - Meta-package for Xfce and rebooting there is no Xfce choice in the login menu. I didn't see any error msgs during install, so I guess something is missing. A few months ago I installed it on (native) debian 12 without any issue.

Note: I know Xfce is not officially supported in lmde.
