Lockscreen sometimes unresponsive when waking from sleep

Post by kdross »

When I wake my system from sleep, the lock screen where I am prompted to enter my password is sometimes unresponsive. The mouse cursor is free, but nothing registers from the keyboard, and clicks from the mouse do nothing on anything (like the on-screen keyboard button on the bottom of the screen). Sometimes, if I wait long enough (minutes), it will come to life, but often times I end up having to power the system off and back on, which is not ideal.

This is a new issue, and nothing major has changed on the system (no new hardware, no new software). All available updates are applied.

Anyone else experiencing something like this, lately?

Re: Lockscreen sometimes unresponsive when waking from sleep

I ran into this sometimes on my xubuntu install but I haven't seen it on LMDE. In my case both the keyboard and mouse didn't work as I have my mouse plugged into the keyboard.

Unfortunately, I never discovered the cause so I don't have any suggestions for you. Perhaps change what ports you have the keyboard plugged into?
