Multiboot "RISOLTO"

Buongiorno, nel mio pc convivono Linux mint 21.3 cinnamon e Windows 11 23h2. Nonostante nel bios la prima voce di avvio sia quella relativa al grub manager, accade che ogni volta io usi Windows, al successivo riavvio mi ritrovo sempre il boot manager di quest'ultimo sopra a quello di Ubuntu mi tocca agire manualmente per sistemare le cose. Di per sé non è un grosso problema ma esiste una maniera per evitarlo ? Grazie in anticipo. Aggiungo: avvio rapido disabilitato e anche ibernazione.

Spero di aver capito bene la situazione ed il problema.

Dopo che nel setup del BIOS/UEFI hai impostato "il grub" come prima unità di boot, salvi le impostazioni prima di uscire?

Save Changes and Exit

Salve,
entra nel setup di bios e nella sezione "OC Tweaker Screen" disabilita la voce "MRC Fast Boot".

Quindi potrebbe essere che non venga memorizzata la modifica. Non è che la batteria tampone sulla scheda madre, quella che mantiene alimentato il CMOS, sta esaurendosi? Hai altri malfunzionamenti o comunque stranezze, del tipo che l'orologio non si mantiene in linea?

Proverei comunque a sostituirla, la scheda madre ha la sua età e potrebbe essere opportuno sostituire la batteria, costa pochi euro ed è operazione semplice da eseguire.

Colgo il suggerimento perché non ricordo di averla mai sostituita solo che non mi spiego il fatto che il problema me lo dà solo quando avvio windows. Continuando ad usare linux, le impostazioni rimangono memorizzate.

al successivo riavvio mi ritrovo sempre il boot manager di quest'ultimo sopra a quello di Ubuntu
ma il boot manager di Windows che cosa centra? Per caso hai reinstallato Windows dopo Linux Mint?

No, ho cambiato hard disk con un ssd e installato windows e a seguire mint. Il programma di installazione di mint non riconosceva il boot loader di windows perchè quest'ultimo, stranamente si era installato in modalità legacy. Leggendo quà e là ho trovato il modo di far partire windows in modalità uefi e la successiva installazione di mint é andata a buon fine con partizionamento manuale. Quando uso windows, l'opzione 2 diventa 1.

Salve,
hai 2 partizioni EFI sullo stesso disco mentre per il dual boot ne serve 1 sola. Dovresti eliminarne una, ma come?

Grazie Paolo. Ho capito dove ho sbagliato durante l’installazione di mint. Ho selezionato il disco ma non la partizione uefi pre esistente dove inserire il boot manager anche se mi sembra di aver letto che avrebbe dovuto farlo in automatico. A questo punto per ovviare penso che mi tocca re installare mint o tenermelo così che alla fine non è una grossa limitazione. Alla fine si tratta di premere F11 all’avvio e scelgo tra i due boot manager. Se non escono nuovi suggerimenti a breve metterò RISOLTO al titolo del post. Di nuovo grazie.

Con l'aggiornamento del Kernel alla versione 5.15.0-100 il problema si è risolto. Ora GRUB fa il suo dovere egregiamente.
