Mint freezing

Post by GM7Avila »

My Linux Mint started freezing suddenly, presenting some bottlenecks while performing simple tasks like using the browser, opening the terminal, among others. Additionally, it took a long time to boot up.

I don't understand Linux in-depth, I've been using it for a short time, so I need help with this.

Consider using the latest HWE kernel as it seems you use newer hardware for 5.15 LTS kernels. Please fire up Update Manager --> View --> Kernels --> Continue --> Find the latest 6.5 kernel and install ... after installation reboot and test it out

I went to start the system and an emergency mode screen appeared. Then I restarted and it had disappeared. I installed the latest kernel, and now when I restart the emergency screen appeared again.

Please either post a photo or describe this "emergency screen" so we know what you are seeing.

If the image is small enough, you can attach it to a post using the Attachments tab below the reply box. Otherwise you can upload it to an image-sharing website and share the link with us.

I noticed you have the grub-customizer PPA installed which may be a factor in your ability to boot.
