Sound Output very Low even at Max Volume

Post by Sifatullah_ »

Hello. I've installed Linux Mint 21.3 EDGE on my HP Laptop. Everything is working very smoothly and I'm really enjoying it. However, I'm having a slight issue with the sound output of my laptop being very low even at 100% volume level. Even at max volume I'm barely able to hear normal videos. I already read some online solution about this issue but couldn't solve it.

I also tried typing

Code: Select all

alsamixer
in the terminal, but couldn't understand what to do.

Thanks in advance!

The author of this thread has the same sound hardware as yours, so probably the same solution would help:

But that user had no sound output at all. And the solution in that post was to try out PipeWire instead of PulseAudio. But the thing is I just tried a bunch of Distros in Live mode to see if any distro with a newer kernel or PipeWire would fix the issue. But nope it doesn't fix it. The only way I'm able to make my sound output as loud as Windows was to use KDE, which has a "Raise volume above maximum" option. So when I set my volume past 100%, then slowly my sound gets louder and normal.
