So, I've been looking around this board for a bit to help me with a solution to get the Proprietary Nvidia graphics driver to function properly without much results. I've tried switch around to a few other 5.15 kernels and Nvidia Drivers already and so far that hasn't solved the dilemma. Here's the result when I type in inxi -Fxxxrz to terminal,

Reason: Moved from Installation & Boot to Graphics Cards & Monitors because the Nvidia drivers are not loaded.

Welcome to the forum, unchatnoire.

The short answer is you have no graphics drivers loaded. That is explained in Tips for Troubleshooting Graphics Issues (including external monitors not working) which is a sticky at the top of the Graphics Cards & Monitors forum.

Graphics:
Device-1: NVIDIA GA104 [GeForce RTX 3060] vendor: Gigabyte driver: N/A
pcie: speed: 8 GT/s lanes: 16 bus-ID: 01:00.0 chip-ID: 10de:2487
class-ID: 0300
Display: x11 server: X.Org v: 1.21.1.4 driver: X: loaded: nouveau,vesa
unloaded: fbdev,modesetting gpu: N/A display-ID: :0 screens: 1
Screen-1: 0 s-res: 1024x768 s-dpi: 96 s-size: 271x203mm (10.7x8.0")
s-diag: 339mm (13.3")
Monitor-1: default res: 1024x768 hz: 76 size: N/A
OpenGL: renderer: llvmpipe (LLVM 15.0.7 256 bits)
v: 4.5 Mesa 23.2.1-1ubuntu3.1~22.04.2 direct render: Yes

The proprietary graphics drivers are available in Driver Manager. I see you added the graphics-driver-ppa so please tell us what you have tried so we can help you fix your system.

There are two steps with a proprietary Nvidia driver. The first step is using Driver Manager to install the driver. The second step is having the driver load at boot time. If you have secure boot enabled and you did not create keys (MOK) or you installed the wrong driver, then the driver will not load at boot time.

Is secure boot enabled? You can check by running the following in a terminal

Code: Select all

mokutil --sb-state
If you installed a driver, please provide the output of

Code: Select all

dpkg -l | grep -i nvidia
and enclose the results in code tags as described in this tutorial: How to use code display tags on forums.linuxmint.com
