Reason: Moved from Beginner Questions to Graphics Cards & Monitors because the problem is monitor refresh rate. Added code tags to inxi output to preserve its formatting making it easier to read.

Welcome to the forum, MinosPRime.

The short answer is you have no graphics drivers loaded. That is explained in Tips for Troubleshooting Graphics Issues (including external monitors not working) which is a sticky at the top of the Graphics Cards & Monitors forum.

Graphics:
Device-1: NVIDIA vendor: CLEVO/KAPOK driver: N/A pcie: speed: 2.5 GT/s

Monitor-1: default res: 1024x768 hz: 76 size: N/A

The Nvidia proprietary graphics drivers are available in Driver Manager. Did you install one?

There are two steps with a proprietary Nvidia driver. The first step is using Driver Manager to install the driver. The second step is having the driver load at boot time. If you have secure boot enabled and you did not create keys (MOK) or you installed the wrong driver, then the driver will not load at boot time.

Is secure boot enabled? You can check by running the following in a terminal

Code: Select all

mokutil --sb-state
If you installed a driver, please provide the output of

Code: Select all

dpkg -l | grep -i nvidia
and enclose the results in code tags as described in this tutorial: How to use code display tags on forums.linuxmint.com

Then you will either need to disable it in the BIOS/UEFI or you need to create the keys (MOK) so the bootloader knows it can trust the proprietary Nvidia driver.

Please see the How can I do non-automated signing of drivers? section to create the keys. Do not do the last sentence.

I am presuming the key process was started (but maybe not) so when you run

Code: Select all

sudo update-secureboot-policy --enroll-key
you will be prompted for a password. You will need to use that password the next time you boot so the key is enrolled, but that will be the only time you need the password.

If you have questions about the instructions, let us know.

If your issue is resolved, please go to your first post in this topic, click the pencil icon, and add [SOLVED] to the beginning of the title and submit the revised post so others know you are no longer seeking help on this issue. (animated gif courtesy of user BJZilberman)
