[SOLVED] Can't Connect to home Wifi Network

Post by wannabe_SWE »

Hello. First time linux user here.
Distro: Linux Mint 21.1 Vera base: Ubuntu 22.04 jammy
I am having trouble connecting to my home wifi network. Either the connection fails, or in case it is connected, it works fine for a couple minutes, before the wifi health indicator in the Wireless taskbar popup drops to zero and the connection eventually errors out.

I searched around and found out that disabling the power management for wifi helps with this issue but it had no effect in my case. I have tried setting the bandwidth of the connection to 2.4GHz and using the automatic(default) band and that had no effect either. I also tried to reset my modem and forget the connection on my PC but that did not help either.

If I connect my phone to the wifi, and then use my phones hotspot, I don't encounter any issues. I also dont encounter any issues with other wifi connections, besides my home wifi network. The ones in my office work fine.

This issue has become extremely frustrating and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the result from the "inxi -Fxxxrz" command

Hey wannabe_SWE
Let's try a newer kernel.
Open Update Manager --> View --> Linux Kernels --> Install latest kernel in 6.5.x series (6.5.0.26 at the time of this writing). Reboot.

Works fine after the update! Thanks @MiZoG!
