Installation Issues Due to Monitor Adapter (SOLVED)

Post by solandri2025 »

I just wanted to share that I was having issues installing latest version of Linux Mint Cinnamon version on an older desktop I have (i5 2500K Sandy Bridge Processor, Nvidia GTX660 Graphics Card, 16GB Ram, 250GB SSD etc.). The environment wouldn't really load into Live mode. If it did, all I could use was Terminal (the graphics portion of the environment never showed-up). I tried multiple USB drive ports and re-created the ISO several times just in case. I had read on one of the forum posts about monitor issues causing problems (multiple monitor displays or simply swapping out monitors - usually an adapter was involed). Regardless - this solved the issue for me. Monitor is connected via DVI vs with the Adapter - believe it was Display Port.

Thank you and good luck all!
