ripping cd to flac (solved)

Post by Howard_P »

Hi- I'd like to rip a cd to flac and put it on a thumb drive. Can anyone make a recommendation for a program to do that (preferably with a GUI)? Thanks.

I've been using Asunder.

I'm using K3b. It is not only for ripping but also for copying or writing data-dvd and else.
For ripping to flac you have to install the package "Flac" from Application Manager first.

Installing "Asunder" this package (Flac) is added with the install procedure.

k3b hasn't been supported for a while. The link in the Software Manager for k3b's website leads to an insecure site.

And what other program for not only ripping but also burning cd / dvd would you recommend then?
Since many years K3b is highest rated among all others. The link in the Software Manager for k3b's website leads to an secure website: https://userbase.kde.org/K3b.

I've already recommended a ripping program, which is all Howard_P asked for.

I stopped burning optical discs years ago so I can't recommend any although I'm sure an internet search could probably recommend some; just be sure to check that they are safe to use.

Thanks to everyone. I've downloaded Asunder and will try that.
