Numerous log issues after fresh install of Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon

Post by zoran902 »

Hello,

I am new to Linux. I recently installed Mint 21.3 on my HP.

At first when I installed the OS, I had a problem with Wi-Fi connectivity - I had no "Wireless" option. So I connected my phone through USB and searched for a solution. So I followed the steps here - viewtopic.php?t=383845. After that I was able to connect to Wi-Fi as expected.

Since then everything runs fine, but I got some log messages. I don't know if there is something to worry about.

Here is the log info:

Could anyone help me how to fix these issues?

As far as I can see, the 5.15 kernel series was released before your CPU was announced.

So in your case I would definitely install a 6.x kernel.

I think you would have been better off starting with the EDGE iso of Mint in the first place.

Thanks a lot! I upgraded my kernel to 6.5.0-1019-oem. So, there are fewer log issues.

Only these left.

So how is it going? Much faster than windows, heh? It sure is for me.

Don't worry too much about "errors", or log entries. Linux will bombard you with those. If you system is working good, that is the main thing.

Absolutely! To be honest, I switched from Windows to Ubuntu on my older laptop two months ago. But I think Mint gives a better experience.

Yeah, everything runs fine so far. The only "big" problem was the Wi-Fi connectivity but I managed to fix it.

Hopefully the next major update of Mint will fix some of the log issues.
