Mate + HP Deskpro 6000 = Nice!

I can't resist being a fanboy. This new OS has breathed new life into my elderly PC. And Win10? Gone. Gone. Gone. Nice!

Welcome! :D

I too, learned the ropes of Linux Mint on an older PC (Core 2 Duo laptop with 4GB of RAM) that I was concerned post-Win7 versions of Windows wouldn't cut it (then Windows 11 came around and it became clear that I better double-down the Linux Mint path for my other PCs :P Though my personal preference is Xfce).

I don't suppose you'd be interested in being more specific on your PC's specs? I'm a bit of a hardware nut, and HP's Deskpro 6000 seems to be an entire series with all sorts of different hardware configurations, so it's unclear what you're actually working with.
CPU: Xeon E3-1246 v3 (4c/8t Haswell/Intel 4th gen) — core & cache @ 3.9GHz via multicore enhancement
GPU: Intel integrated HD Graphics P4600
RAM: 4x8GB Corsair Vengence @ DDR3-1600
OS: Linux Mint 20.3 Xfce + [VM] Win7 SP1 x64
