[SOLVED] Guest shares

Post by Peter Linu »

Hiyall,
21.3 Cinnamon is my host. 21.3. 21.3 XFCE is my guest. I have configured vboxuser in the host by going to admin/user. What do I tick to share it in XFCE?

Are you trying to set up a shared folder in the Cinnamon host that can be accessed from the xfce guest?

With GuestAdditions installed on your Xfce guest (no click-and-run with xfce--you need to install VBoxLinuxAdditions manually from the terminal)

To access the shared folder you chose on the host using Settings>Shared Folders you need to be a member of the vboxsf group

sudo gpasswd -a yourusernamehere vboxsf

The share will be mounted automatically and show in your file manager

Or do you just want drag and drop between host & guest and vice versa?

Settings>General>Advanced, choose bidirectional in both boxes
