MInt updates - can I set levels?

Post by JAK_O »

Hi, i search into blogs, forum, and IRC but w/o success

I use LMDE and have some issues with MintUpdate. Into the last Sylvia version i could set level of update (1-5) and easy remove or unlist and hide what i do not want. In this DE version instead i cannot hide kernel and software update.

I see the splice tab but this do not operate as i want.

This is the question: can i hide kernel and software update and notifications and gain only security update?

Thanks

Well, kernel updates usually also contain security updates....

Hello, JAK_O.

The level system (level 1 to 5) was dropped from the Linux Mint Update Manager more than 5 years ago.
Cf. e.g. this post: viewtopic.php?p=2059092#p2059092. The safety levels were dropped in release Linux Mint 19, which was published in the middle of 2018.

When update manager offers an update you can right-click the update
and choose to ignore it once or ignore it forever.
Those files will be listed in Edit/Preferences under the Package tab.
You can add them back if you change your mind in the future.
