computer does not wake up from sleep

Post by kau92 »

When I leave the computer as it is for a time, it goes to sleep or the desktop goes black.
when I try to wake the computer up from this, it does not wake up.
sometimes it wakes up after a very long time of keyboard button pressing.
sometimes a console comes on screen with text, and it repeats itself over and over without starting.
sometimes I suspect there to be a graphics card fault.

I have to use alt + sysrq + r e i s u b to restart the computer in most occasions.

what to do? help.
thanks.

You should first check if there is an update for the BIOS, and BIOS configuration. Can you check what is your motherboard model?

Code: Select all

sudo dmidecode -t system

Look at Control Center: Power Management Settings , Screen Saver.
Sometimes, on some systems, the computer is woken up by a short press of the on/off button on the system unit.
