Wine not reconizing the Java I already installed
First I would like to apologize because I'm new to linux mint. I had downloaded a player made mods for the game Age of History 2. Which mess with the source code of the game and require some form of java. The mod requires a JRE 8, which I'm pretty sure I installed because I've spent all day a couple days ago trying to install it. When I attempt to load the game it will say "This application requires a java runtime environment 8." I've loaded it in Lutris, Bottle, and regular wine with the same result.
Re: Wine not reconizing the Java I already installed
Hey Raine and welcome to Mint forums
I bet you need to run Jre 8 windows installer inside your wine prefix.
Tell us how you installed game (command-line creation of wine prefix, with the help of a game launcher like Lutris, on Steam with Proton etc).

Re: Wine not reconizing the Java I already installed
Its just a normal executable file found on the game's forums. The base game and mods are completely independent from each other even though the mod uses base game files. It was an oversight by the original creator of the game and while the game is on steam it doesn't have a workshop, so most people posted their mods on the game's forum. Those game files tend to have their own executable different from the original game. All I did was download it, unzipped it and tried to run it through Lutris, normal wine, and even bottles. As for installing windows java I pretty sure I did install it into the wine prefix but its not working however.
