Hi mint's default desktop is gnome only.But kde edition is community edition of mint maintained by boo and community member.Cassendra kde edition probly come after xfce edition.For kde pls refer threads related with kde hope you ll find alot information that you are looking for.Well i dont think mint's gnome is bad its one panel it gives more desktop feel.As far as about mint forum yeah its really good n alive always.You ll see many more in mint soon.

Well, I can sympathize, I've never been able to switch to Gnome - though Mint's version had me close to doing it.

If you're not afraid of reinstalling when Boo has the KDE version ready, you still can install KDE on top of Cassandra in the meantime... :wink: That's what I did as I'm not very patient :twisted:

And, yes, from all the distros I've tried over the years, Clem is without doubt the most attentive developer to users' feedback I've ever seen, and the community the friendliest. So welcome! :D
I don't have a solution, but I do admire the problem.

I used to think the same and on SUSE I "of course" always used KDE ... but now that I switched to some Debian-based distros (Debian "Etch", Ubuntu 7.04, and Mint 3.0) I use GNOME everywhere and I actually quite like it :D
