Mcdonald hamburger, fries, & coronary occlusion for a buck
Sounds like good value.

Do they add pineapple to to their burgers?
Is pineapple accepted on a burger?

I seem to recall that McDonald's experimented with a pineapple burger (not pineapple ON a burger, but a pineapple burger) for the Lenten season, before settling on a fish sandwich.

Re: Pizza - a Friday ritual

Every Friday is pizza night. Toppings are varied and pineapple/ham is not excluded. Neither is anchovies but used sparingly for wifes sake.

Wow, nobody has said deep dish pizza yet. There was a good deep dish place that I miss; they were located close to where I lived but had closed around the Pandemic :( .

Southwest Utah has one (man, I wish I still lived there). IMO the best fast food burgers are from Carl's Jr.
The best fast food burgers I've ever had were from Nessie Burger, a little place just off of I-15 a little north of Escondido, CA. They were even better than restaurant burgers.

Nowadays, I make my own burgers, cooking the patty in the microwave (safer and far less messy than grilling; I use layers of newspaper and paper towels to soak up the excess grease as it cooks out) and using whole wheat burger buns (I have to avoid processed grains, like in white bread, white pasta, or white rice, to help keep my A1C down).

Nope. Prediabetes is defined as having an A1C of 5.7-6.4.
Looxury! (Python).
I've bin Type 1 diabetic my whole life and an A1C of 5.7-6.4 is considered perfection.
So it's down to words. Lose 'prediabetes' and just buy a blood sugar meter and stay as close to 6.0 as you can.

You might also consider changing your diet to one with little fat (cheese, dairy), little meat (anything that can look back at you), moderate carbs (rolled oats, wholemeal bread.

Complete explanation available on request.

We know we have to vary our diet and choose from different food groups. I often vary my diet on one pizza by using red chilli on one half and green chilli on the other.

Are you a doctor? BTW, I prefer following my own doctor's advice.

@Jeannie,
No, I'm not a doctor but I trained as a dietician. I also instructed my own GP in the delights of macrobiotic living.

There are various formulae for finding your correct weight/size however there is really only one true method, the mirror. My question to you is; are you happy with your shape? If not, you should change it with diet and exercise.

Again, I'll get my advice from my doctor, who has been monitoring and advising me for years and has actually been examining, running tests, etc.

That's too subjective, I think. As it might be seen as condoning anorexia as well....

Personally, I got structurally and rapidly rid of 14 kilos of excess weight, simply by strictly sticking to eating thrice a day. Nothing in between. My body has gotten quite used to it, so it's no hardship.

My length is 1.89 metres and I used to weigh 91 kilos. Now I weigh 77 kilos (well, 76 this morning, but that's exceptional). That's structural weight; I've been weighing consistently between 76 and 78 kilos for over three years now.

Feeling great because of it. Sort of rejuvenated. I use BMI to assess my weight:

It's worse than that. The charts/formulae do not always account for limb to trunk lengths and bone structure. Back in my mid-forties, I was lean and mean yet the chart's my employer's insurance company said I was overweight and couldn't qualify for a healthy insurance premium discount. I even pointed out I have short upper and lower limbs and a large frame but they wouldn't budge. Then, one year, they switched to measuring BMI electrically and all of a sudden, even though my weight hadn't changed, I was showing up as being more than lean enough to qualify for the discount. They still wouldn't budge when I tried to get the discount retroactively (cheapskates  ).

Due to the danger of malpractice suits, doctors use charts in tests to cover their ample assets which often lead to missed diagnoses. I suffered for years with untreated hypothyroidism, despite having all the symptoms—because the misbegotten TSH test showed I was "normal" (it's not an uncommon problem, especially in women). It wasn't until a doctor agreed to treat me they way they did before the TSH test—giving thyroid hormones, starting with small doses and slowly and gradually increasing them until the symptoms went away—that I finally got relief. It was a short while later I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease where the body's autoimmune system attacks the thyroid hormones and, often, the thyroid gland itself. What bit my ample asset was the test for Hashimoto's is a simple blood test, one I had to request once I learned about it.
