This is for the Mint team.
I recently wrote a tribute to Linux Mint but I still wanted to say something here. The team that runs Mint, that develops it, that manages it and share it us are awesome. You have struck a cord, a Linux cord and it has been heard by the world. Whatever it is that you do it seems that Mint keeps getting better and better.
I'm in a long term care facility due to a sever foot injury and no money and no way to get any. I have a cell phone but no computer. Three months ago I asked a few friends for their opinions if they thought it was a good idea for me to set up a "Go Fund Me" or something to see if I could raise up enough money to buy a laptop so I could have a computer. Instead, a couple of those friend offered to buy me one..wow! It blew me away! It took my one friend Jeff up on his offer and started looking. I told him I wanted a Chromebook which are way cheaper than regular laptops. I had the intention of installing Linux it all along away.
I found one for $280 with 16-gig of RAM and 120-gig HD and also came with a 64-gig micro SD card with regular adapter to fit the slot my laptop had on it on Amazon. He agreed and BANG I had a brand new laptop a week later. I had Chrome on it for a few weeks but tired of it fast and installed 21.3 on it. It went as smooth as silk and I am in love.
I went without a computer for a long time because of some things, years actually, but followed the Linux world and what was happening. I used Mint back in 2010 and knew it was awesome then. I put 21.3 in and then when 22 came out a few weeks later I upgraded to it flawlessly. It's amazing, I live in the 21st century again. You guys, and gals that make Mint happen rock. Please keep doing what you're doing. I tell everybody what version of Linux I use. I root for you. Your awesome!
I don't know if anyone who runs Mint will respond or not but it's ok. I really just wanted you all know
A Thank You To The Linux Mint Team.
