The forums (fora if you prefer) were down for a while after I "drug" my ample asset out of bed and I eventually did get a message saying they were down for maintenance (in other words, I just needed to hurry up and wait). It's been up and working fine for the past hour now.

Stuff happens so it's all good. Thanks for taking the time to stay on top of things!

Seems like the forum server is down a little now and then.

Couldnt get in during several hours , tried from 3 different places.

Only for the case that you skipped xenopeek's post. This is the reason why you were permitted to look at the colourful Sucuri picture.

I much preferred the screen that eventually came up saying the forums were under maintenance. It was so much prettier and informative than that hideous (pardon my profanity) Sucuri [/profanity] screen.

Your profanity is completely misplaced and it would be appreciated if you stop it.

Not only is that NOT a "Sucuri screen", it is an image which clearly indicates Sucuri is not the problem. Sucuri has a check mark because everything is going through it properly. It is not stopping anything. The X and the ! are for the Hosting Timeout.

You were looking at an HTTP 502 screen that indicated our servers had a very high load. Apparently, everyone wants to be here.

Oh, for crying out loud. I never said Sucuri was the problem. Can't you tell when someone is kidding around (the wink and grin should have been your first and second clues)? Yes, I dislike Sucuri—I feel it's an inferior website security provider—enough to joke that the name is a curse word, but I knew that was not what was going on here—it clearly stated that the attempt to connect had timed out, not that it was blocking access—nor was it what I was referring to. Face it, that screen is rather stark and cartoonish looking and is nowhere nearly as pleasant to look at as the error screens the Mint Forums puts up.

On the other hand, it is rather more informative than just a timeout message from your browser, or a permanently spinning throbber on the tab that continues indefinitely with no information at all. It is trying to tell you where the problem lies. I prefer that to nothing at all from a frozen browser window.
