is there a plugin for silverlight need it for sky player to work which i am registered with.i am going to be a new mint user.

Welcome to Linux Mint. I really don't use Silverlight (I hardly ever open Windows at home - I get enough of it at work :| ).
For Linux there is Moonlight; it's in the repository. Moonlight is an open source implementation of Silverlight. The description from the repository is as follows:
Moonlight is a free Silverlight clone, allowing Free Software systems to
run embedded web-browser objects or standalone code targeting Microsoft
Silverlight.
