LM Forums is slow to or unable to load with VPN on
This is really just a minor annoyance than a real problem, but whenever I've got my VPN on, getting to the Linux Mint Forums is extra slow, or sometimes doesn't connect at all. I imagine this is probably for security reasons, but is there any way this could be adjusted so I don't have to turn my VPN on and off every time I try to visit? I understand if it has to be that way, just thought I'd ask.

Definitely not enough information to provide any possible, useful, answer. If your VPN makes 45 hops going through 15 countries, of course it will be slow and there's nothing at all that Linux Mint Forums can do about it.
What's the exit IP when you see the issues?
What's the latency from your location to that exit node?
How far is that exit node from the LM forums servers?
Have you tried using a different exit node? Where is that?
For me, these forums appear to be in California and I'm 3000 km away from there. If you are in Asia and the LM Forums appear to be in CA, USA for you as well, then the time to get there is to be expected ... knowing ZERO else about the situation.
And what is "slow"? That's an arbitrary term without real numbers to back it up.
For me, this page took 0m1.658s to load. I used curl to see that. There are tools built-into most browsers for profiling too, but that's beyond the sort of help I'd provide here.

Your vpn will have different servers. Try them.
My vpn has some servers that are slow and sites take a long time to load.
Or maybe move to a different vpn.
