Applet PYE update

Post by Drugwash »

Following a request from a board user I've updated Applet PYE to v0.0.11.0. Hopefully it still works in Cinnamon 6+. Can't test it myself, not yet at least.

Change log:
- improved keyboard/mouse access to sliders (delta: single key/scroll = 1 unit; Ctrl+key/scroll = 5 units; Shift+key/scroll = 10 units)
- improved detection of active/inactive displays to avoid repeated crtc error messages in log
- workaround for a warning log message on applet startup
- replaced certain system icons (removed in newer Cinnamon) with own icons
For clarification: once the sliders panel is open each slider can be accessed through Tab/Shift+Tab or Arrow Up/Down, and value can be changed through Arrow Left/Right.

Personally I'm a mouse person and the applet is designed to maximize mouse access (click/scroll with optional modifier keys Ctrl or Shift). Adding dedicated hotkeys/shortcuts to sliders would be prone to bugs and/or interference with other applets or applications so I'd like to avoid that.

Please note this applet will probably not work in a Wayland session as it requires xRandr for its operation. Switching to Clutter color filters is not planned for the foreseeable future; maybe Mint devs will manage to build their own tool for that.

Applet can be found at any of the two repositories mentioned in my signature below.

Enjoy!
