GRUB loading error unknown filesystem[SOLVED]

help! i have lxde on my toshiba, and it was working fine, but after i changed which swap partition to use and deleted my ubuntu partition from linux mint, and rebooted, now i get a black screen with:

GRUB Loading
error: unknown filesystem
grub rescue>

and i can type stuff. help!

nevermind got it to work! had to do with the partitions changing order and grub2 not keeping up with that lol. anyway yeah solved... :roll:

In Grub 2, any time you change anything on the hard drive, open a terminal and run "sudo update-grub" to allow Grub to adjust to the changes.

ok got it thanks! i wonder why it's not automatic... but yeah now got another problem (next thread over...)
