Mint 10 should be just fine. Easy to tell the difference between Mint 9 and Mint 11. Why make things complicated.

And that means that Ubuntu is only for animal lovers!
I think it would be fun if the female name was taken from a different county each release, say a Spanish girls name for Mint 10, maybe a Russian girls for Mint 11 and how about a Chinese girls name for 12.
I think this would emphasise Mints international appeal.

Year followed by month is a sure way to make a distro seem old if there is a delay in issuing Mint.
