My latest theme, trying to keep it simple. Not bothering with AWN or Conky b/c I'm using Mint 7 Gloria XFCE right now and am waiting for Mint 9 Isadora XFCE (or I might go Debian, not sure >>)

Not yet, have to reinstall gnome on one of my machines. My Mint 9 install did not hold up to an nvidea driver update and I was waiting a while to make sure it was resolved. Thanks Exploder, have you checked out Gnome Shell yet? Very different but interesting.

Sorry to hear you were having issue with Video drivers. Never fun. You'd think they could fix something so important.exploder wrote:Not yet, have to reinstall gnome on one of my machines. I installed all of the updates then activated the drivers, now it's working alright. I had to manually fix the resolution for Plymouth because my monitor has a higher resolution than any included in the tools.Sorry to hear you were having issue with Video drivers. Never fun. I am glad to hear you got it working. Nothing more frustrating than video issues.exploder wrote:I installed all of the updates then activated the drivers, now it's working alright. Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

My latest mess around. It's the wild-shine theme and background with a Tigris window border. And some rgba thrown in for good measure. So glad I could blur the windows, transparency without blurring is horrible.
Linux Mint 8 RC1 = Nice
'apt install' can be used on Linux Mint as a shortcut for 'sudo apt-get install'. 'apt x' can be used for various other apt commands as well.

Thanks guys
I just installed Mint 9 on my desktop and am hard at work configuring it. I'll post a screenie when I'm done.
One question tho:
Is there a tutorial somewhere where I can make conky look as kool as your guys'? That'd be the perfect icing on my desktop! thank you!
