what are you choosing to do with the partition section?
and how far are you getting in it before it goes to lala land?
what happens if you open gparted while running live?
mintmenu-->administration--> gparted
do you see the hard disk and partitions?
what are your computer specifications?

Now where was i going? Oh yes, crazy!
I have two hard disks and the 80GB contains ubunttu and the 160GB contains XP. I have selected the Guided Partitioning to use the entire disk, 80GB. And after the wizard begins the installation at the 5% of partition formatting, it sops working.
When i run the GNOME Partition Editor, after a very long time, it shows partitions.
Computer specs:
3.00 Gig processor
128 MB GeForce 5200
Two hard disks - 160GB with windows and 80GB with Ubuntu installed.
512MB of RAM
