Video Wobbles

Post by robsmint »

Is anyone else seeing any video instability? I get the occasional screen flicker with pixel corruption flash across the screen for a second or so.
hardware is a Compaq CQ61 laptop with 2GB of RAM.
lshw gives:

Code: Select all

cpu
          product: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T3400 @ 2.16GHz
          vendor: Intel Corp.

*-display:0
             description: VGA compatible controller
product: Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller
             vendor: Intel Corporation
and lsmod includes:

Code: Select all

vga16fb 11385 0
vgastate 8961 1 vga16fb
i915 282354 2
drm_kms_helper 29297 1 i915
drm 162471 3 i915,drm_kms_helper
intel_agp 24177 2 i915
i2c_algo_bit 5028 1 i915
agpgart 31724 2 drm,intel_agp
Hardware Drivers finds no available drivers to install but on previous systems not using Kernel Mode Setting an Nvidia driver would have been installed.
Bu then again maybe I have an impending hardware fault developing.
Any comments?

err ... ignore the comment about Nvidia drivers. That would have been on my desktop machine.
See the lspci -vv text attached.

I assume you never received a reply to this, right? I'm having the same problem. Were you ever able to fix it?
