No sound in Linux Mint 9 on Macbook Pro 2010 (6.1)

I am having problems getting my soundcard to work on my new Macbook Pro (mid-2010, 6.1, 17") with the 64-bit version of Linux Mint 9.

I have tried turning up the sound in alsamixer, adding a line to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

(although I'm not sure if it is an intel card)

Codec: Cirrus Logic CS4206

What else should I try to get basic stereo sound?

apt-get install linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic 

This will get the sound to work, but it will kill the wireless driver. And since I don't have wired internet access until I go to work on Monday, I won't know if it is just a simple fix to re-install the wireless driver.
