I have been using Windows products since Win95 and a few months ago I decided to check out many Linux distros to include Ubuntu, Puppy, and OpenSuse and ended up with Mint 9. I currently run a dual-boot with Win XP, but find myself more often than not using Mint solely. The only thing that keeps me with a Windows partition is I own a Zune and it isn't compatible with Linux (yet ?). I do plan on setting up a home server in the future with Linux (considering Debian).
I do want to learn more about how/why to use the Terminal, so far I have created a desktop Icon for my scanner which runs "scangearmp".
Linux Mint 9 is a great OS with much support available.
