with my linux native UT2004 it has a file called ut2004.run on the DVD.
to install it I open a terminal window and run the following command:
sh /media/cdrom/ut2004.run
that starts an install script that asks some questions, i take the defaults and the game is installed to /usr/local/bin/ut2004.
you may have the same type of file on the CSS CD.
look for a file called css.run or something similar.
there should be a readme file or install document file on how to install the game on linux. It should have all the instructions you need.

Now where was i going? Oh yes, crazy!
You'll find here how to install it with wine....
http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/wiw ... OWTO+Steam
works like a charm, but it's no replacement for native enviroment... I get lower FPS, not to mention that graphics are not the same either...
I'd love to hear your experience tho... so post back how it's going.

Windows is extremely fast after a fresh install. If you want to make it stay that way: - don't use it.

also if you like css... try installing tremulous... it's in the repos...
I actually stopped playing CSS for some time to shoot at aliens for quite awhile with it... it's a great fast paced free game with lots of players on line and with great balance.
Beware though... it takes SKILLZ... I actually couldn't kill crap for a few days till I got my reflexes up to speed As an added bonus, I became a css headshot machine afterwards
