Boot from USB

Post by enedene »

I was trying to put the iso to usb and install it to my laptop but I couldn't. How do you I install LMDE from USB?

Code: Select all

dd if=linuxmint-debian-201009-gnome-dvd-i386.iso of=/dev/sdb bs=4M;sync
This would not boot.

It worked fine. Thank you.

Also agree with Unetbootin.

Remember: Unetbootin will not set the partition on the USB stick as bootable. This can be done with gparted, though.

GRUB doesn't care if the partition is marked as bootable or not. That's an NTLDR problem. :)

How would you be able to add 4gb persistence?
