PCLinuxOS Gnome 2010. Using it on one box now (again), and I'd forgotten how nice it was. Also, the repos have new stuff added all the time, the few things I've requested were added quite speedily, and work great. Desktop is VERY responsive. Becoming impressed with it all over again. :)

Lately I have been testing Skolelinux - http://www.slx.no - the awesome product by cool Norge / Norwegian :D
It's for at 1st - for schools which use it almost every (school in Norway) and have to say - Norwegian school pupils are lucky using such cool distro

Other cool distros are Privatix, Amnesia incognito as well as Penttoo, NetSecL, BackTrack and EasyPeasy (for netbooks/laptops) 8)

I'd probably use Debian since that is the easiest thing to fall back on for me right now.

yeah also debian i guess. Or maybe crunchbang - or give archbang a try although I can't say much about it right now.
No more Ubuntu for me though.

I'd grit my teeth and use Debian. I have successfully installed Debian to a g4 iBook in the past. Xubuntu would be my second choice.

I used to think PCLinuxOS, but after using LMDE it would have to be Debian.

I've been trying out PCLinuxOS XFCE 'Phoenix', which solved many external hard-drive & flash-drive problems I had with Ubuntu 10.04/LM9 Isadora, which seem to be GNOME related.

I tried to install LMDE, but it wouldn't get past the partitioning stage. Maybe I got a dud or pre-Alpha version. However, I need an OS that'll work with a USB modem & printer-drivers (.deb/cups), but since Debian Stable doesn't seem to recognise .deb packages, I may give LMDE a wide berth.

So I may try Isadora XFCE when the website is accessible again: at least I know that my hardware will work with it: Xubuntu can allegedly run in little more than 200MiB RAM, which is well impressive, so the Mint version must be similar.

If all else fails, I guess I'll use Dban Beta - http://www.dban.org/ - maybe the best Linux OS so far!

tm, fluxbox is a desktop, not a distro.

Either #!, Slitaz, or Debian. I really don't know which.

I'd continue to use at least mintMenu and probably a few other tools as well, though.

If you make a donation to this great OS, it'll do more good than this speculation.

I will go to Ubuntu, I like that Distro very well, but the MintTools an the Configuration (Flash, Panel....) Improve the Ubuntu Distro a lot. I do not know If I would use Mint if it was build on an other distro like Ferdora (I will not say that Ferdora is not a good Distro, but I like more the Dabian based distros)...

The obvious alternative is Debian.

But maybe i ll start a big distrohopping era, starting from distros like Slackware or Blag.
