hit alt f2 and type gksudo firefox, now using help/check for updates should allow Firefox update to run and install the update, that's it close all Firefox windows and reopen, your now enjoying 3.6.12...

Re: easy way to update firefox
Hi,
Thanks for the tip - I had been wondering how to do it painlessly. Worked fine.
Regards,
Dyfi

Re: easy way to update firefox
Maybe it works... but I doubt this approach is kosher.
Re: easy way to update firefox
I usually add the Mozilla/Firefox repositories to my sources.list . . . updates/upgrades are then automatic, every time I update.
I am now using Firefox-4.0 beta 7 . . . successfully.
Code: Select all
##Run this command: wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | apt-key add - && apt-get update
Copy and paste, this to the bottom of your /etc/apt/sources.list >> deb http://mozilla.debian.net/packages/ ./
Then ... apt-get update
Re: easy way to update firefox
This key is inop...also cannot be found on pgp keyservers.
What to do?
What to do?
