Hi everyone!
Ive been a bit of a lurker here for a while now and I thought it was about time to introduce myself and become a more active member of the community. Like many of you I have been using computers since the 80's (circa MSDOS 6) and grew up on M$. I discovered Linux back in 2001 and tinkered with it as a secondary OS for several years before finally wiping Windows and installing Linux as my primary operating system a couple of years ago. Since then I have spent the majority of my time tinkering with my system, learning to program, and becoming a better sysadmin. Up until this point I have found plenty of things to keep me busy so that I mostly used the forums as a place to help me solve minor issues and find answers to my questions. Recently however, I have seen a sort of plataeu in my tinkering and I have started looking for more things to keep me busy and continue my Linux education. I figured the next logical step would be to give back to the community that has been such a great source of help and inspiration for me. To me, that means becoming a more active member of the forums (i.e. actually posting), triaging bugs in launchpad, helping those new to linux, etc...
So there it is and here I am. I hope to be as much help to all of you as many of you have been to me. Thanks for listening to my story and I look forward to getting to know all of you.
cheers.
