What's the difference between versions?

As a newbie to Linux Mint I've been wondering what the difference is between the 5 version of Mint. If someone new comes along it might be confusing as they won't know which version they should download.

LXDE
KDE
Debian
10

Also wondered if there should be a sticky thread explaining the differences to n00bs like me.

As a general comment, the difference between each Linux version from the same distributor/developer is the kernel release and the desktop being used
--some distributor's tend to stick with one preferred desktop selection, such as Ubuntu does, when they decided on Gnome..

The two main desktops are KDE and Gnome
--alternatives are xfce, lxde and others, such as Rox filer/Rox desktop; for example puppy Linux uses Rox filer..

in addition to DrHu words
gnome is the desktop of performance and speed for low processor speed

but kde is the desktop of art and flash bright pics but in low processor speed it's not good in the performance
