While I am not as artistically gifted as mmesantos1, here's my latest "aha" moment. A transparent gnome-panel! It's a big deal to me.
Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
Thank you Habitual for your kind words. I do like your desktop, really like your conky, great job.
Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
Habitual,
You did well - a lot of people struggle to get a transparent Gnome panel

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
recently hooked up my laptop to a 42'' HD LED TV via HDMI - just using it to watch movies n stuff (tried to do some actual work on that screen but heck, that was just a laughable attempt really...)
Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
@CaptHilts What kind of taskbar are you using?

nope it isn't cairo-dock...this one's AWN (avant window navigator). using the testing version and the "theme" is called lucido.lKingjr wrote:looks like cairo-dock
however, if by "taskbar" you mean gnome panel, i made it transparent and disappear cause i don't use it
Cheers

CaptHilts:
That AWN theme rocks.
Too back I have do dig around the net to get it working over here on OpenSUSE.
Gives me something to do.
For the time being, I have YetAnotherWingPanel theme installed. It's close.
Searching for source code to build it. Also the OSuse version doesn't have an Indicator Applet. Darn!!!

@Habitual
yep, it's a great theme - haven't changed in almost two months, really found my thing here.
Well, using mint it's a breeze in getting it to work, just using AWN testing PPA instead of the stable one and the rest is a matter of configuration under preferences.
I plan on switching to Arch on my main computer some time in the beginning of this summer, hopefully with AWN lucido

I like what you did there. Clean and simple yet functional. Can you post your conky configuration?Habitual wrote:While I am not as artistically gifted as mmesantos1, here's my latest "aha" moment. A transparent gnome-panel! It's a big deal to me.

Grabbing "something" using Bazaar (brz) now... This should be a treat.CaptHilts wrote:@Habitual
