Thought I should say 'hiya'

Post by SimonTS »

Hi from wet Bristol,

I've been on the forums for a couple of months now, asked a couple of questions and helped a few folks too (I hope). I used to use Linux from about '99 to '03 in a few different forms, but never got to replace my Windows systems with it. Been away for a few years, but recently came back and as the only machine I've got is my Dad's 6-year old laptop I decided to bite the bullet and got Linux full-time. Tried out various distros - OpenSuse, Fedora, Ubunutu, Puppy, ... but settled on Mint after seeing how complete it appears to be. Currently using Gnome as my system isn't really powerful enough for KDE, but hope to get a better PC before too long.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to everyone here, especially to Clem and his team for producing such a fantastic O/S.

Thanks Wizard. I may be from Bristol, but I'm not a Bristolian. Born Germany, lived here, there and everywhere (pad brat). Happy enough living round here though, despite the slightly dodgy 'Farmer's Ba$tards' accents.
