testing or squeeze
Should I use testing or squeeze for LMDE for its debian repo since I'm installing it from Squeeze AMD64? Vincent's article -> http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/198 refers to both. But at that time maybe Squeeze is Testing.

this means i got to change squeeze to testing in my sources.list and dist-upgrade.

LMDE is based on Testing
When you install, the sources.list is by default set as Testing.

on the other hand, if you installed LMDE and then changed your sources list from testing to stable or squeeze your computer would be running an OS based on Debian stable with all of the Mint tools and modifications available. You would not get new versions of all applications as they become available to those using a testing or unstable based sources. If you enable the backports repository you will still get some of these in time.
There would be very minimal chance of breaking packages and dependencies due to updates. Much less a chance than there is if you leave your OS based on testing. Not that there have been any terribly big issues with leaving things set at testing for me.
It's a choice you make.

After my last installation i followed the advice in http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=65708 and changed from testing to squeeze before upgrading. It got me into a lot of trouble with among others later updates wrecking the function. When I changed back from squeeze to testing it all resolved. My advice is thus to stick with testing.
