I have tried to install Katya 32 bit on my experimental machine with both the RC candidate and Final release. I have formatted the / and /home partitions. The installation hangs at the download and install of language packs. This is right at the end. The only way to recover is a hard reset. As Grub is not configured properly the computer boot to a fail message.
Using the CD image and updating to the DVD spec goes without problems. I am writing this on the machine in question.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Also the wireless card which worked well in Mint 10 is no longer recognized. I will investigate this further.

Re: Katya DVD install hangs near end
Have you checked the md5sum of the DVD?
How much RAM has that computer?

Re: Katya DVD install hangs near end
Sorry, yes MD5 sum of both DVD's was correct. Same for CD that worked. Remember 2 DVD's 1 RC and 1 final, burnt at different times both hung at the same place.
Edit: Computer has 4GB RAM
Very strange to me.

Re: Katya DVD install hangs near end
Yes, it's some problem. If you have 4GB of RAM and a 64-bit computer you should use the 64-bit version of Mint.
Re: Katya DVD install hangs near end
I have a similar computer running the 64 bit version of Mint 10.
It has a few minor problems running GoogleEarth and I wanted to try it out on a 32 bit system.
I still think the DVD should install correctly.
BTW my new 32 bit system seems to run GEarth much better.
