here is a few things to check:

burning real slow is one of the more common fixes, and checking the md5.

To check md5 in windows I think you need third party software. here's a link to one I found with google:

I dont know how good it is becouse I don't use windows!
like boo, I would also recommend burning as slow as possible.

to me it sounds like you don't have enough ram but you said
it's a new machine so, I assume you have more than 384MB?
other than that i'm not sure.
