No video playback when Visual Effects On

Post by sarbos »

Hello :)

I have an odd problem with video playback, when I play a video or dvd with the Visual Effects on, I get a black screen, sound plays but no image.

If I "play" with the window of the player (move around, click on it, drag it...) the image flicks for an instant on the screen, and then disapears back to black.

If I turn of the Visual Effects, it works flawlessly.

Anybody knows how can I solve this?

Thanks in advance. ;)

I think Compiz fusion has a workaround for this. Install "compizconfig-settings-manager", and look for Advanced Desktop Effects Settings in the menu. There is an option to affect video playback.

Thanks for your answer... :)

But it doesn't work :(

Reading the option it seems that it's just what I want... but no.

Any other idea?

I'm trying to play it in a laptop... everything else works fine.

Thank you ;)
