I just did a few updates today, and all of a sudden Thunar won't keep the right-click context menu open unless I hold down the right mouse button. It only seems to happen in Thunar.
I found a solution on another website that involved editing a gtkrc file in ~/.themes/Aurora, but I don't have that particular package installed. I'm sure it was one of the updates that happened today, and though it isn't serious, I'd like some guidance in fixing it.

Re: Thunar right-click menu won't stay
I don't think that made a difference; I am using the Mint-X theme, and if I comment out that line (or change it to say gtk-menu-display-delay = 0), after a reboot it works normally the first time I right-click on a file or folder in Thunar, but after that it disappears unless I hold the button down. Oddly, if I right-click on the whitespace around the icons or on the icons in the left-hand window for various file directories the menu behaves normally and toggles with a button press.wayne128 wrote:check this, might works for you

The behavior of it working once seems to be the 'new normal'; when I first noticed it, I rebooted ('cause, that's always the first thing you do, right?), and it also worked once but not on subsequent tries.
I appreciate the note, though, and I hope someone else has another good ideas until I get around to researching this further.

I suggest you go to Men>settings>Appearance and for the style select Xfce-4.6
I don't know why this works

All of the Xfce-* themes seemed to work, as well as some of the ones above, though not the various Minx-X* themes.aljoriz wrote:I suggest you go to Men>settings>Appearance and for the style select Xfce-4.6

Very strange to be sure; it must have been introduced in the last mini batch of updates. But, its fixed now.

Re: [SOLVED] Thunar right-click menu won't stay
When LMDE xfce 1st came out this problem was present but it regressed I really don't know which part of the updates broke it but im happy with xfce4.6 appearance anyway.

It worked for me on Mint-X-Metal-Xfce theme.wayne128 wrote:check this, might works for you

By the way, is it normal to get default Xfce theme settings after install instead of Mint-X?
I kinda expected to see minty look after install as it is in live session...

Until now I hadn't messed with the Appearance control panel, so I was using straight Mint-X-Metal-Xfce.edv wrote:It worked for me on Mint-X-Metal-Xfce theme.wayne128 wrote:check this, might works for you

FWIW: I settled on the "Clearlooks" theme.

Glad you got it solved. I had the same problem a few days ago.
